Mainline South
Steam; 60009 'Union of South Africa'
5th February 2006

A shot of 60009 heading towards Old Oak Common from Kidderminster, Friday 3Feb06 at Hanwell & Elthorne.

Then luckily the next evening, at Kings Cross after terminating following working The Fenman railtour. The route was: Kings Cross to Ely, then return via Sleaford and Grantham. [All shots at the Cross were hand held with no tripod, ASA400. You can get away with 1/30sec or even 1/50 with a low aperture. Numerous beers in Nottingham earlier didn't help much with keeping the camera steady!].

A 67 was at the far end drawing back the stock out of the platform. Luckily for me it was a slow process enabling this sequence to be taken.
