| What to see: Semaphore signalling for most sections with frequent DMUs and a sprinkling of freight.
How to get there: Gilberdyke station for Oxmardyke, Broomfleet station for Cave [walking or cycling in between]. Crabley Creek is very remote and best reached by car. Sadly I didn't have time to visit the Brough to Hulll section. Boxes not visited included Brough East, Welton [crossing] and Melton Lane. General comment: For info about signalboxes, I recommend the excellent 'Signalling Atlas and Signal Box Directory of GB and Ireland' by Peter Kay and Derek Coe. For freight timetables Freightmaster online is unbeatable. |
